Steve Lacy’s Otto Link Tone Edge # 12 soprano mouthpiece

This is arguably the most famous soprano mouthpiece ever made.

It is an Otto Link Tone Edge #12, specially made for the great jazz soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy. Steve played it using Marca Superieure reeds of various strengths, from # 2 to # 1 1/2 to even #1 reeds. I know. I played that mouthpiece and Steve even gifted a box of his # 1 Marca reeds to me in 2004. And this mouthpiece played effortlessly from the bottom right through an amazing altissimo, and it changed the way I thought about soprano mouthpieces.
