The new CORO SOPRANO MOUTHPIECE in 3 CHAMBER DESIGNS

$165.00

The world of playing soprano saxophone just got more interesting: THE NEW CORO SERIES mouthpieces.

It’s not one mouthpiece but 3 mouthpieces because it comes in 3 unique chamber designs, specifically to bring out a specific voice, each one different from the next.

This is really all about SOUND. These mouthpieces have a sound that is distinctive and full of texture. Like all of my mouthpieces, they respond with ease and quickness. But the SOUND is glorious and distinct.

CORO-1, with the smallest chamber of the three, is a focused, rich textured “electric” sound. . A real traditional “soprano” sound, no hint of alto anywhere! And as focused as it is, it is not bright or brittle. Think Grover Washington, Jr. Plays like butter!

CORO-2, with the middle-size chamber, is a quick, more spread sound but still with a solid, textured core. This chamber design produces a sound that is perfect for New Orleans-style traditional jazz, in the style of Sidney Bechet: big, rich and expressive.

CORO-3 has the largest chamber, with a warm but solid fullness. Think Wayne Shorter, all the way.

The mouthpiece is 3D printed and then hand-worked by me. Each one is play-tested until it sings the way it should.

Check out the videos on the SOPRANOPLANET Facebook page and listen for yourself.

Also available in machined Delrin priced at $295.00.

Here’s an email I received today from a client about his CORO~2 mouthpiece. Believe it!

“Well Joe, you mentioned previously that I might be “shocked” by the Coro~2.  Indeed, I am.
The word that comes to mind is: Transformational.  My 475 doesn’t sound like the same horn and, it’s hard to believe that Lucky Thompson kind of sound is coming from me.  Just an incredible transformation!  (The reed’s nice too).
Anyway, thanks so much for what you’re doing and the great piece and service you gave me.
Very best, Keith”
