I’ll tell you just how good this mouthpiece is: I was playing in NYC one night 20 years ago and using this mouthpiece. A guy in the audience came up to me after our set and asked, “What mouthpiece are you playing?” When I told him, he said “Not many people know how good these can be.” That guy was tenor titan George Garzone.
So, this piece plays a whole lot bigger than the tip opening. It’s got a lively, rich sound and everybody wants to play on a piece like this sooner or later. You may have your piece now, but this could be the piece you end up playing for a long time before it’s all over.
Can’t say enough good things about it. The chamber is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The sidewalls are slightly undercut, but not the entire length. The throat is a large squarish, not exactly, opening and this piece has a beautiful sound.
