I say it all the time: I never met a Riffault mouthpiece that I didn’t love. And their flagship soprano mouthpiece design is as good as any ever made. That’s why any number of big mouthpiece companies just bought them wholesale from Riffault and put their own names on them. This is one of those, and it is in beautiful condition. The tip is moderate, not open and not closed. It plays like a dream with a clear, core voice full of partials and with impeccable response and intonation. In other words, a gem. It definitely will not not last long and it’s a steal compared to most new mouthpieces. It is every bit as fine a mouthpiece as a vintage Selmer Soloist at a fraction of the cost.
